What are your ID requirements?
Everyone, upon entering The Bishop, is required to have on their person state or federally issued photo ID, which must be current and not expired. Your student ID doesn’t count. Bring something with your birth date on it. YES, you must bring ID even if you are under 21. You will be refused entry without it.
Why are some shows 18+ or others 21+?
We try to hold 18+ events when we can. However, due to the required security and expense it’s not feasible for every event to be 18+, only when the demand is overwhelming. The Bishop does not profit in any way from the presence of minors and their inclusion is mostly a favor to the bored kids in our town and the bands who would like to play for them. Please don’t abuse this by acting like a fool.
What time will this band or that band take the stage?
The posted start time is all the information we can give you. Please remember that when you call the bar to ask this question the night of the show, the bartender answers. S/he has no idea.
Where can I park?
Across the street from The Bishop is a parking garage which is free after 6pm. The lot directly behind The Bishop is free after 5pm and on weekends. All on-street parking spaces are metered until 10pm Monday - Saturday, but are free on Sundays.
How does ticketing work?
Tickets are available the day of show with cash or credit card. Some shows have advance sales, links to which can be found on our main event page.
Unless the show is sold out, tickets will be sold the night of the show at The Bishop. While the bar does accept credit cards, tickets for events are cash only at The Bishop. If you must use a credit card to buy tickets do so only online. Buy tickets.
Are you handicap accessible?
You bet your ass.
What is your policy on photography?
If the camera fits in your pocket, you can bring it. Any thing else requires the permission of the artist.
Can you smoke inside The Bishop?
Nope. Nowhere. Per common sense and City of Bloomington ordinance.
