Skaaholics are an Indianapolis-based bilingual band fusing ska with genres such as Latin, punk rock, reggae, & hip-hop. Their performance follows a conversation at Indiana University’s First Thursdays Festival on the intersections of punk, race, and America.

--Juan Mora (IU CRRES/History) and Shane Greene (IU Anthropology) talk about the Mexican-American ‘proto-punk’ band ? and the Mysterians and a new book titled Punk! Las Américas Edition.
--Invited Guest, James Spooner (the creator of AFRO-PUNK), and Olga Rodríguez-Ulloa (IU American Studies and Latino Studies) talk about Spooner’s new graphic memoir, The High Desert. Black. Punk. Nowhere.

Conversations followed by live music with Skaaholics, bilingual ska-punk from Indianapolis. Opening set by Cuervo Sucio, Peruvian folk-punk made in Bloomington.
